Onewheel slipped out from under me and went off dock into ocean
Post Body

I immediately jumped over the railing down into the water and grabbed it, swam to a pier post and climbed up as far as I could to hand it off to someone.

The thing F L O A T S .. literally... I managed to get it out of the water and it was only floating atop the surface for about 15 seconds. I hit the button to turn it off as soon as I got back on the dock and about 2 min later did a light rinse off with a freshwater hose.

While rinsing I noticed the button still flashing. I turned it off (again?), And am now carrying it around with me. Afraid to try and turn it back on.

The wheel is not badgered waterproof, although it has a charger plug and power button cover. This board only has 170miles on it

Does anyone have any words to share with me?

Update//..

at this point it has been over 24hrs, I have taken the board apart completely and cleaned what I can with isopropyl alcohol. I plan to get a corrosion electronics cleaner and spray all the connectors.

The battery has a hot spot in the corner along the led panel and itโ€™s been like so for about 24hrs. Has had me worried.

I can at this point put the controller and battery in a bag with those moisture eliminating bead packs that someone commented here about.

The wheel and hub are going to get attention next.

This board has been absolutely extremely well cared for in its 170mile life span, Iโ€™m unsure what to think or how to feel. I still owe over $1000 on it as it was financed.

UPDATE UPDATE /

The spot on the battery was continuously hot the last 24hrs, Iโ€™ve taken the board apart and opened the battery case, the battery management system (BMS) is fried, the circuit board has 2 fried spots and the connector plug on the battery has a fried spot,

Next is to open the hub motor.

So question is, who and where can I find a BMS? And is the battery ok? Aside from the circuit board.
