What to buy in the Free League Sale? Starter Set or Core Rules?

Hello Fellow Travellers
Free League have a 50% sale on and both the Starter Set and the Core Rules are marked down. I can only get one, so what would you buy? I don't currently have a regular gaming group so am buying the thing to read more often than play - hence I'm leaning towards the Core Rules as a chunkier read.
