Order when into processing, haven't received tracking number yet.

I understand that there are 3 stages to the delivery process
Pending delivery, processing and complete.
It was my understanding that when my order goes into processing that is the delivery stage and I should receive my tracking number. I have not received it yet. Am I wrong or should I contact somebody? Thank you
EDIT: It has been in processing for almost a whole day, it hasn't only just changed to processing.
