well, how do you like it?
1) Love in the Time of Lexapro
this is as great as it was when i first heard it. definitely feels like it would've been out of place on the album, because the melody is a little too slick and "human sounding" for that. i could put this on loop in the background, relax and zone out for hours
2) Last Known Image of a Song (Ryuichi Sakamoto Rework)
i thought this was a perfect title for the original version, and Sakamoto seems to have embraced it even further. the emptiness is claustrophobic, it's cool to see someone who definitely gets what 0PN was going for
3) Thank God I'm a Country Girl
a bit disappointed because the title got me imagining something more outlandish, but the song isn't bad. this seems like it would make a good extended intro for Black Snow, which i'm guessing was the intention based on the western imagery in that song
4) Babylon (with (Sandy) Alex G)
really interesting performance, not at all something i would expect from 0PN but a pleasant surprise that gives the song a very unique flavor. doesn't really fit with anything else in his catalog, but it's a cool direction to take it, even if it is just a one-off.
