I made an attempt to simplify the car making process... hope this helps.

You will need the Newcomen Hammer, Roller, Bore, and Lathe for construction of the car.

You will also need 17 steel ingots, 2 wrought iron ingots, 5 buckets of rubber dough, 4 wooden wheels, 1 long straight shaft, 1 box, charcoal, kindling, buckets of water, and kerosene.

Start by building a box close to the forge, but not too close.

Next make 5 raw rubber tires.

Volcanize 4 tires in an oven and save one for a timing belt later.

Place tires on wooden wheels.

Combine wheels in two groups of two, then into one group of 4 wheels.

Next add four wheels and tires to wooden box.

Unpowered Crude Car Complete!

Heat wrought iron and hammer on flat rock. Strike 3 times to make fuel tank. Repeat to make a second.

Fill one fuel tank with kerosene.

Now the Diesel Engine….

Start by making 17 ingots of steel and plenty of charcoal and buckets of water for forging

First prepare the Newcomen Hammer and a forge for heating steel.

Heat 12 steel ingots and hammer 10, one time each, into piston blanks. Hammer one other twice to make small pulley. Hammer last hot steel ingot three times into large pulley.

Attach large pulley to long straight shaft. Then attach small pulley to make disconnected pulley drive mechanism.

Use this device to make the belt from the remaining raw rubber tire.

Vulcanize belt in oven, then use a knife to create timing belt.

Add timing belt to disconnected pulley mechanism to make pulley timing mechanism.

Next prepare the Newcomen Roller and a forge.

Heat and Roll 5 steel ingots into rods.

Next prepare the Newcomen Bore.

Bore 3 steel rods into steel pipes.

Bore 2 cold steel piston blanks into steel cylinder blanks.

Next prepare the Newcomen Lathe.

Use lathe on 2 steel cylinder blanks to make precision cylinders.

Use lathe on 8 cold steel piston blanks to make 8 precision pistons. Use lathe a second time on 6 precision pistons to make 6 steel valves.

Use lathe on 2 steel pipe to make 2 fuel nozzle bodies.

Attach a steel valve to each fuel nozzle body to make 2 fuel injection nozzles.

Use lathe on 2 steel rods. Once one the first to make a cam shaft, twice on the other to make a crank shaft.

Combine a precision cylinder with 2 steel valves to make a diesel cylinder head with valves. Repeat for a second one.

Add a fuel injection nozzle to each diesel cylinder head with valves to make 2 diesel cylinder heads.

Combine a precision piston with each diesel cylinder head to make 2 diesel piston heads.

Combine diesel piston heads to make diesel piston block.

Final assembly...

Add crank shaft to diesel piston block to make diesel crank assembly

Add cam shaft to pulley timing mechanism to make cam timing assembly.

Combine cam timing assembly with diesel crank assembly to make diesel drive assembly.

Combine a steel pipe with a fuel tank to create engine fuel system.

Combine engine fuel system with diesel drive assembly to make DIESEL ENGINE!

Place diesel engine on unpowered crude car, then add kerosene and enjoy the ride!
