Is there any point making a variety of clothes in a developed town?

I pretty much spend every life making sure the nursery is well-stocked, but it's a long process to make a shirt/shorts set if you're the only one tending berries and carrots, feeding and shearing sheep and delivering the clothes to the nursery (why can't we carry clothes in a basket or bp!).

But is there any point making other clothes? Most people care more for practicality than aesthetics, after all.

I know fur clothes are warmer, but they decay and make you look less advanced. Dresses and skirts don't have pockets (WHYYYY) and are easy to transform into shorts. I love the woolly hats but they take much more wool than bowler hats.

If I'm the only one making clothes should I just make what I like and thereby force clothes diversity into a town lol?
