Is there any way to kill Oceiros in a cheesy way at sl1?

I'm doing a sl1 run in ds3 and I want to obtain the path of the dragon gesture in order to fight nameless king, I also want to get the prisoners chain from Gundyr. I haven't attempted Ocerios yet because I know that his charge move basically makes his whole body a speeding train of a hit box. This fact alone makes me absolutely terrified of even attempting the boss. Any slimy, cheesy strategies/tips would be highly appreciated :)

grab a crossbow and look up how to get him stuck behind a root so you can cheese him
