What do you do with down jackets for long term travel?

Hi guys,
I am thinking of getting the patagonia down sweater, but have no idea what to do with it while in warmer weather and not needing it. Packing it down seems like it will damage it.
For context, I am planning to travel the next 2 years out of one larger bag.
Any suggestions is great.

You can’t have the conveniences of living in a single place while travvelling. Either suck it up or just sell it and buy it again as needed or have someone from home ship/post them to you as needed.
