Hello everyone,
I've spent the whole weekend here researching what might be the best backpack for a beginner when it comes to onebagging. In terms of price and performance, I decided on cabinzero backpacks.
So, I now have the CZ classic 28l (45€) and the CZ military 28l (62€) at home. I ordered the military because YouTubers on the internet said that the shape of the straps is much more comfortable, there is a sternum and the back padding is an advantage.
Now that I'm holding the backpack in my hand, I agree with them BUT
is the comfort really worth the missing 10cm depth that you have with the CZ classic?
The plan is to fly more often with Ryanair or wizzair in 2024. I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to onebagging and I'm actually more the kind of person who would rather have it with me than need it. I don't care about a large suitcase.
I actually have the backpack on my back on the way to the airport and from the airport on the way to the hotel. And maybe 1-2 hours if a have to waste time before I have to go to the airport.
Is the back padding worth giving up 10cm of depth? According to CZ both have 28l but the Military is narrower and not as deep. How does that work? I know CZ states the volume differently. But do you really not notice any difference when packing the military compared to the classic?
Here are CZ's measurements for the backpacks:
Classic:
32 x 42 x 25 cm (width x height x depth)
Military:
30 x 42 x 15 cm (width x height x depth)
I prefer space if it can be packed efficiently. Which for me is the Osprey Farpoint vs Porter argument. I prefer the Porter for my type if travelling. I go to my place of stay and base camp out of there so usually leave the bigger bag behind anyways.
