Genuine question: why, in the 1970s, does it seem that there were more average looking people in films and television than ever before or after?
Post Body

It’s something I notice when I watch 70s films and TV. Almost everyone on the popular sitcom all in the family is average, Fonzie and Richie and most of the gang on happy days are average to me, Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall were pretty average imo, Diane Keaton was pretty average, for some reason everyone was way more average. Do you think this will happen again, or is society too shallow to allow it?

(70s films are GREAT, by the way. Just an observation of mine.)
