Trivial but anyway…

I live in Oklahoma City and walk my dog often at Hefner & Overholser. I take her on the “sandbars” & let her off leash since she can’t really go anywhere (as long as there aren’t a lot of people fishing or ducks/geese to chase, she’s not allowed to do that).

My question is this: people clean their catch & leave the remnants behind. I’m constantly having to stop her from rolling on a dead fish (she’s experiencing complete bliss) or stop her from eating whatever rotting grossness she finds. I kick the stuff back into the water. Is this bad for the lake & living fish?

Worst case scenario, she’s learning leave it & drop it more. But then she’s stinky. But I think it’s inconsiderate to leave fish carcasses laying around.
