It's the year. Or, more precisely, how they pronounce the year. The show is set in the year 201X, pronounced "Twenty-one X." But that sounds like the year is 21X. It might just be me, but it would sound SO much better if it were "Twenty X-Teen."

That's how it's supposed to be, right?! Have I just been mispronouncing my vague-future dates my entire life? Or am I just in the minority here? I haven't seen anyone else bring this up, so is everyone else just OK^{^ko} with this? Personally, I can't hear it without cringing at how weird it sounds.
