Post Body

Went to Stinchcomb yesterday. My dog was leashed, as were a couple others we saw. One dog, a blue heeler was not. The first time, the unleashed dog & his owner biked/ran past us. The dog stopped & barked. I use a retractable leash but I reel her in & lock it any time we are near another dog. After a bit, he called his dog off. Later, we came across them again. I picked up my dog & backed off the trail as much as I could (it was in the woods). Dog stops & barks again. Owner says oh don’t worry she doesn’t bite. I told him I do not trust big dogs that bark at me. He muttered something & went on. I wanted to tell him, wake up and watch the news. Two stories of deadly maulings in the past week. One was in her own backyard, the other victim was dog sitting.

PSA: leash your damn dogs, control them. My dog never barks at other dogs. Once in a while, she will bark at someone in front of our house, and I tell her to stop, that’s rude. She barked at the guy spraying my neighbor’s yard, but only after the other dogs barked. She barked today at the ice cream truck, but the truck annoys the crap out of me too.
