Post Body

Hi BuddyRetarders, I hope this message finds you well.

TL:DR: The reddit admins said we had to :(

I'll keep this short and sweet, because I don't have much to say and I know you won't read past the 3rd line anyway.

Reddit admins contacted all mods to warn against allowing the proliferation of misinformation about the virus. They're obviously sensitive about this, and whether that is justified or not is not for me to decide.

I'm sure 95% of the users here wouldn't spread misinformation intentionally, but even exaggerated or just ironic memes (the bread and butter of this sub) could be considered misinformation.

I don't like this anymore than any of the rest of you, but this is where we are. Keep in mind that everything you write on Reddit is public, and can easily be viewed by people who don't "get" the subs humour. Normally this is fine. Even now, it's probably fine. But now isn't the time for probably-s.

If you'd like to discuss the virus, in relation to the subreddit or otherwise, you can join the OKBR discord.
