How to get a foot in the door? MWD / Directional Drilling

I was curious how to get my foot in the door for a entry level MWD position. I have experience working on the drilling side. A couple of the DD's working on our rig were helping teach me some of the basics before I was laid off back in 2015. Unfortunately we lost contact and I no longer have an in. Any help appreciated.
