Hey . I'm quite confused as i have received two offers from different aspect of electrical engineering and idk which one is better in the long run
First one is in the Oil and Gas as a trainee Instrumentation and maintenance engineer in the electrical department. Its one of the biggest refineries in my country but is a century old . I did an internship their earlier which involved alot if manual work and just understanding of whats going on in the maintenance side . Instruments working PnID's, ILD u common inventory management on Maximo. I enjoyed it but felt like its kinda not what electrical is about
I also have another job offer with a electrical distribution consultancy which main job is designing cable layouts and substation designs . Basically all works for UK based DNO/IDNO . Job is fun but this is a relatively small setting. Pros beings its an international company which is an advantage being in south asia
I have 2 plans in mind . Either i go for the refinery work hard and in next 2 years aim for companies like OXY , Chevron or Adnoc in the upcoming years OR i stay with the consultancy and aim for UK DNO's like UKPN or SSEN and others .
Please guide me I'm really lost atm (factors: Life , Money, Work life balance, wanna get outta my country)
