When Fender debuted their Jaguar Acoustasonic I immediately fell in love with it until the MSRP provided a swift punch to the gut. I then wrote off ever owning one and went about my day.
Then just the other day YouTube recommended some videos about some new replicas to check out. The one that looked the most promising and reviewed the best across various YouTube videos/channels was the IJGAP-300 model guitar from a brand called IYV. They're fairly identical to Fender's offering for the most part and only cost $145 (plus $80 S&H) so about $225 total or so which in comparison seems like an absolute steal.
I was considering ordering one for myself as a Christmas present but wanted to ask if anyone here had any experience with one? On paper they seem identical in many ways with some cost cutting exceptions. The reviews I've watched have been really positive which I found promising considering the price point. Apparently the CNC computer assisted automation is what makes it both easier and cheaper to meet that price point while maintaining some pretty decent QC.
Here's one of the video reviews and demos I've been checking out. Apparently to obtain one you have to order it direct from their factory in Vietnam (hence the $80 shipping).
While I'm not that big on off brand replicas the cost of entry combined with the positive reception I've seen over and over again makes me very interested to try one while keeping my expectations properly in check.
What do you think? Do you own one or have heard about these before?
