Has it ever happened to you? You say "Hey, I work at X" and people don't take your profession seriously? Because it's my fucking bread and butter, every time I say "I'm a programmer" people say "Hey, making websites is really easy nowadays" (as if being a programmer is just that) or my favorite "Anyone can learn to program in an hour" I just hate it
I recently made the mistake of helping a friend of mine create a website for her business, I did it as a favor. It's not just the fact that all the time she wants me to make changes to her website (Without paying me anything ofc because why would you pay a friend for her work?9
now she offered my "Services" to more people, literally today I got a message from a friend of hers saying "Hey max, I want you to make me a phone app, it has to have this And that and I want it by the beginning of January"
I replied "Yes, and how much are you going to pay me? And the person got mad because now it turns out that wanting pay for work you never offered is a bad thing, apparently
And it's not the only message from people who want me to do things like that for them without mentioning any kind of payment or anything like that.
