It’s my fault my mom didn’t graduate college. Twice.
Post Body

The first time was when I was born. This one I don’t really feel responsible for, it’s my parents fault for not being carefully, however the fact remains my birth put a pause on my mom continuing with college.

The second time was when I graduated high school. I entered the local community college about 2 weeks after graduating and she started University of Phoenix a couple weeks later. She bought herself a laptop, went to night classes, went into debt, but after 18 years of not being in school and essentially being a stay at home mom it was really hard for her to get back into things. She asked me for help but she would also procrastinate and start asking for help around 11pm when I had classes at 8am. After a couple classes that I am assuming she failed, she dropped out again and hasn’t tried again since. Meanwhile, I have my masters degree.

I feel bad since I could have helped her at the very least get her started but I was trying to figure everything out on my own as it was and I was so tired by the time she would ask for help.

This was about 12 years ago and she and I haven’t spoken in about 2 years.
