I don’t enjoy teaching one of my autistic students
Post Body

I work in education and there are a number of students who are autistic, have ADHD or many other learning disabilities. But none of them compare to one of them. The student does not want to be there and is prone to being disruptive and combative at every possible moment. Getting them to do their work is nigh impossible and they are rude to other students and instructors. The worst part is that nothing works. We’ve talked to mom, we’ve tried every method in the book but none of us are trained to do this. It’s difficult teaching a child on the spectrum and it’s the one thing I hate about my job. I know that this isn’t a good thing to think but god it is frustrating how absolutely nothing seems to faze this student. We can have conversation after conversation about their inappropriate behavior and it still doesn’t work. I’m frustrated and annoyed and I wish they would just stop coming sometimes.
