Not wanting to attend Thanksgiving festivities is perfectly acceptable regardless of the reasoning why. Because you’re worried about Covid? That’s fine! Because you don’t want to be around toxic family members! That’s fine too! Because you just don’t feel like it? That’s also fine! Because you want to spend the holiday with someone else? That’s more than fine!

No one is obligated to do something they don’t want to do just because someone else says to do it. People shouldn’t throw a fit and make crappy accusations and petty remarks because of it. Nobody but the whiner and fit thrower is ruining any holidays. Take a step back and see how selfish you’re being.
