two nights ago i (25/f) was at the bus stop just minding my business on my way to work. i work overnights at a warehouse. i take this route because for me it’s always been relaxing, one long bus ride instead of multiple trains. anyway, i’m sitting at the bus stop and this black car just pulls up and two dudes start shooting at me with paintball guns. one shot went directly into my eye. i got picked up by an ambulance, i thought i was gonna die until i looked down at my hand and saw paint. my eye was just so warm and wet i knew it was leaking blood and i knew i was shot but it didn’t register by what until i saw the paint on my hands when i reached for my phone to call 911. i still have my eye luckily. i still have my vision too, it’s just blurry and a hint of yellow shade when i look out of the eye that was hit. it was a random attack as they went and shot a 17 year old boy immediately after me and he was brought to the same ER 90 minutes later. people are so cruel. then my supposed boyfriend had the nerve to say i should be used to the traumas of being shot because i’ve been shot with a paintball gun before and i’ve been shot at before with a real gun. Are you fucking shitting me? i should be used to trauma???? i could have lost my eye and i should be used to it? i just hate. people right now

tldr: i got shot in my eye with a paintball gun as a random attack and my NOW EX bf said i should be used to it by now cause it’s not my first time being shot at

EDIT — yall he my ex boyfriend now lol i broke up with him a couple of hours ago after i made this post and got this shot off my chest. ALSO THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO SENT THE LINK TO THE CHICAGO SHOOTING!!! if these are the same guys i’m so excited i am closer to hopefully helping CPD catch them and y’all all are a part of that and I am so thankful. even in the videos there’s two shooters and with me there was two shooters as well. so scary.
