I freaked out over my girlfriend participating in an 18+ panel, and I feel like an asshole for it
Post Body

The title gives the jest of it. We’ve participating in Con for 2 days now and it’s been fun and we were with friends. It was pretty late so our friends decided to go to an 18 panel because the person who hosted it was pretty funny. He was but what I didn’t realize was that there was audience participation. My girlfriend wanted to try it and I was very hesitant because they made it seem very sexual and I don’t really like the idea of my girlfriend doing anything sexual in front of others. She said she wouldn’t do it after I squeezed her hand and asked her to not do any that was too over extravagant, but I gave her the go ahead because she was having such a fun night and I didn’t want to ruin that because I felt uncomfortable. So the first participation she goes up with her friend, who I’m comfortable with, but anxiety is already building up because the person I love the most is in front of a lot people who are obviously looking for a show. Her and her friend start doing the challenge (which was feeding each other marshmallows, I know, stupid of me for overreacting) and I hear someone in the crowd catcall and I just snap. The anxiety just gets to me and I start panicking. I instantly get up and walk out of the room and sit in the hall. Later I get a text from my GF asking if I’m alright. I tell her to just have a good time but she then comes out and says that we should leave. We then talk and I feel like a jackass for ruining the night. I feel even worse because all she’s saying is that she’s not mad at me and respects my feelings and that she was just worried about me. I feel like a terrible person and I shouldn’t have overreacted.
