I got a new pet kitten two months ago, and during that time she’s gotten deathly sick and has an infection that has baffled even specialist vets. I received the bill today and the expected pay out for everything to treat her and it was $2,498. I’m going to school next year, trying to pay existing debts, and also trying to begin my transition in the next month or so. I’m currently sick with COVID and have been outta work going on 2 weeks so I don’t have income coming in. I loved her, her cuddles, and her purrs. I just hate the fact that I feel like a failure, but I know I can’t take the burden of that debt. The shelter said they’ll be able to treat her, but if she can’t be treated they’ll have to put her down. At this point I know that’ll be better than her suffering and sleeping all day. I just wish things were different.
