I(24F) am very inexperienced when it comes to dating. I am very shy, introverted and socially awkward. I never had many guys notice me or flirt me or ask me out or anything, and it used to bother me. I lacked confidence and did not know what I wanted either. I never tried any dating apps because I saw that most of the girls I knew were able to get boyfriends IRL without them, so I thought, why should I have to use them? But guys IRL never took notice of me (not saying I am ugly, but I am not the most attractive girl you know, plus my social awkwardness). It made me upset, but I eventually learned to de-prioritize it. However, now I am craving to go on a date bad. I've decided I'll try a dating app and be more proactive about the process. I now know what I want. I am not looking for a long term relationship, nor am I looking for just a hookup. What I am looking for, is the excitement of meeting someone new, someone I am attracted to, of doing fun things with them (not just in the sexual sense), and of course, sex. But I can't right now because of pandemic-related reasons. But I can't wait for it.
