The other day the max number of users were using my Netflix account and I couldnāt figure out who it was. After checking in with everyone who should have access, it became obvious it was someone else. I changed the password and logged out from all devices, then I realized that it was probably my dad watching something since he had that type of tv and lived in the city the IP address was coming from and I felt bad for cutting him off.
Then I remembered.
I remembered he took all our savings and abandoned myself (12 at the time), my brothers (3 and 9) and my mom in a house they were 2 years into a new mortgage on and 1 year after financing a new van. Our main source of income, the āmanā of the house, and half of the people who were supposed to raise and protect me just GONE like that. Did he feel bad? Did he regret fighting paying child support every time he felt he could reduce the amount because we spent the entire weekend with him? How about when we lost the van and had to go on welfare? What about having to watch the same 4 DVDs and VHS tapes on repeat because we couldnāt afford cable/satellite/more movies?
Iāve had a strained relationship with this person for years and can usually keep it civil but now seeing that I felt bad for cutting off his Netflix binge (him and his girlfriend make about 10-11K per month so they can afford a Netflix subscription) Iāve now started considering going no contact.
