I didn’t serve for this
Post Body

9 years ago I remember taking my oath to defend America, I remember the pride I felt thinking I would be out protecting America and her people. But now? Now I look back at my time in the military and I’m disgusted, how has the country I so proudly defended come to this? Our police officers and government officials are rejecting their oaths and promises to keep everyone safe and to serve them in favor of a fucking tangerine. How can someone proudly say they’re a veteran in todays America knowing we are destroying families, pillaging countries for their resources under the guise of freedom, racially dividing our people because fucking toupee man wants more power? Conservatives how can you stand by while we further age old policies that ingrain racial injustice in our daily lives? What ever happened to separation of church and state?

I’m ashamed to have served this country. I’m ashamed of the contributions i have made for this governments interests. I sacrificed my mental and physical health and live a life of disability now for what? I wish it was for LGBTQ rights. I wish it was to help lift POCs to a level of equality.

I wish I could have served the America I thought we were.
