Tw: assault

My ex and I were involved for almost 7 years and broke up a month ago. Back in 2018 when we were only a month in he committed a crime against me.

He and i were in a hotel room and he cornered me in the bathroom and strangled me over money in my purse. He left the hotel room abruptly after he strangled me and failed at stealing. I was super scared and drove immediately to the other side of town and called a date rape line. (Yes there was some sexual assault immediately prior to the strangling). The city police came out and took whatever information I had and my recollection of the events. As far I knew, he never was even talked to by the police.

Now we broke up November 5th but on December 4th he reached out to me. We have been talking/fighting/airing grievances against each other. Today he brings up the police report because I brought up how he did numerous abusive things to me but i stayed in the relationship.

He is mad about it and even told me to "fuck off". Just minutes before he was wanting to hear me say "I love you'. I also think he thinks I'm somehow conspiring against him because he says the police spoke to him today but I had nothing to do with that. The police report did not have his legal name or alias as he had given me a fake name.
