Long story short; I got into an argument at a bar last weekend, and the person I argued with put their hands on me. I called the police immediately afterwards, but they didn’t seem to take me seriously (maybe because I was hysterical and still drunk.)

Multiple people were witnesses to my assault, but the police only interviewed a bar employee who didn’t witness the incident. The said employee claimed I had fallen (because I was on the ground) so that’s what the police choose to believe instead of me. Nothing I said mattered. I was treated like a liar.

I haven’t filed a report and probably won’t ever file. I’m afraid no one will believe me. I’m afraid to leave my house because I might encounter the person who assaulted me again. I’ve lost my faith in law enforcement. I feel so humiliated and angry.
