Drove three hours both ways to be stood up

Iām so annoyed right now. This jerk knew I was three hours away, set and confirmed a time for 8 PM, then ghosted me.
I messaged them twice at 8 and eventually left after waiting thirty minutes (left on read).
Do people really do this on purpose? Is it funny to them?
I got home at midnight and am tired as hell for work for nothing.
