We simply lock the doors of classrooms that are currently not in use...?
Also, yeah I mean that exact attitude with "before you start trespassing". Like, the idea that walking into a school is trespassing. Here, schools are buildings open to the public. You wouldn't call walking into a park, or library, or city hall trespassing, would you?
No, with the "doors locked" I meant to address the risk of theft. like, all expensive equipment is behind lock and key.
Concerning after hours: OK, that's true, if it's after hours or you're otherwise circumventing a closed off area, then it's trespassing.

It's so fucking wild to me that in the US, it's apparently a no-go to just walk into a school.
When I'm in my old home town, I always make a point to visit my old schools and hang out there for a bit, be nostalgic for a moment. Imagine the mistrust in people that this draws immediate suspicion.
