Help on using extra USB ports

Post Body

I finally jumped off the cliff and bought a gaming laptop (I know, gaming desktops are the way to go, but I travel a lot) and rift. Both are amazing, but I keep running into an issue. Basically, I didn't realize just how important the USB 3.0 slots the computer had. It's got 1. I use a laptop docking station which I thought had to be plugged into the only USB 3.0 that it had. This created an issue with the rift. At least one of the sensors needs to be 3.0 as well as the headset. This was my solution...I bought a powered USB 3.0 hub. It works and can handle one sensor and the headset, but that's about all the power I think it can handle. I need more 3.0 ports...the computer does have a USB C. I bought a USB-C hub (4 ports, all 3.0). I'm now able to get one sensor through the USB C and it can also handle my external drive. I've got one sensor in the USB 3.0 hub and I figured out the docking station doesn't need to be hooked up to the 3.0, so I've moved that to a regular one. I know this is confusing, sorry, It's because I'm a noobie to all this. Does anyone know of a better solution for this (other than getting a different laptop). The USB-C hub has a small port that I can hook up DV5 power. Will that work to get all the sensors on the same hub? Is there a more powerful hub that will be able to support what I'm wanting to accomplish? I've seen a couple of 10 port hubs (Anker has one, powered of course). Will that work?

Summarized actual question: I need a solution to adding 3.0 hubs to run the Rift. My computer only has 1, and a USB-C. I've got a hub for the 3.0 and a hub for the USB-C. I'm having to use all 3 ports, one in each hub and one in the laptop in order to get the Rift working great. Is there a one hub option that is best and powerful enough to handle it all? If so, would be it better to add the hub to the C, or the only 3.0 on the computer.
