Hello everyone, I was wondering what youguys think about organisations like Oceana e.g. and their appearance kn social media. I know they stand up for a good cause but I see a lot of posts on social media by them or similar organisations that seem hypocritic imo. They talk about plastic pollution and mentiond to avoid single use plastic items but no word on fishers, ghost nets etc. They talk about the potential of every human being fed by the sea with restored oceans but don't mention the fishing industry is a big reason we have lost a lot of fish already and are also damaging other species like whales, sharks or sea turtles. I'm a marine biologist working in whale conservation myself and it really bothers me to read stuff like this. People who are not into the topic pick up information that is not even covering 50% of the actual dimensions. What's your thoughts?
