During my limited studies of alchemy, taoism, and other spiritual/occult/religious topics I've heard alchemy referred to as the "Philosophy of Fire" and Taoism as a philosophy of water.
When looking at other religions and paths of magical practice I've wondered what each one's elemental correspondence might be. Zen practice strikes me as Air in the bizarre way it expresses its ideas (or lack thereof), and obviously Pagan practices closely align with Earth. How might other practices like Hermeticism, Chaos Magic, and religions outside of what's normally discussed in the Occult correspond to the elements?
