I'm using a diffrent computer then normal, staying with a friend for 2 months using his PC to stream with OBS. im quite aware (or atleast decently) of how this all works, so 'quality' here being quite relative, but specifically i want a sharp image, and COLOR instead of blurry and somehow losing color? The color is very clearly being discolored and i cant figure out the cause.
i've been told looking around online, using OBS downscale because its so 'specially made' is fine instead of streaming in a lower resolution. (trying to capture low res games, using a old earthbound save here as an example)
my problem is NOT the stream getting pixelated, nomatter how i change my settings, the final example is still softened / blurred, IE even on a still, instead of being a sharp image. ............................................................................................................................................
768 x 672 Res Recording left, game life on right. (using res downscale in OBS from much higher res)
Example A http://puu.sh/ribZ4/8a0e2d088e.jpg Example B http://puu.sh/ricNn/f6ce803461.jpg
note these were made with the recording feature, so its very definatly a problem on my end in some settings somehow. problem A being the image not being sharp, despite this being a 1:1 comparison, (ignore this for now) on the recording its not only far less sharp, but greatly discolored. example B shows this clearly at the bottom where the images meet, where its supposed to be 'the exact same color' and it very clearly is not. ......................................................................................................................................
768 x 672 Res Recording left, game life on right. (no downscaleing)
Example A: http://puu.sh/rifyu/983bdd5022.jpg Example B: http://puu.sh/rifKj/9276e3bd0e.jpg
as far as i can tell, this fixes blurring / softing, (in other word downscale isn't perfect what a surprise, despite finding a dev posting that its extremely accurate) witch leads me to believe the dev post i found somewhere saying 'downscaleing is extremely high quality with almost no diffrence' is a outright lie. however, the color is still very diffrent. in example A i got a perfect lineup on the floor tiles, showing it being much duller then the actual game. Example B is outdoors, in a bright area, so its decently easy to see the diffrence. ...............................................................................................................................
512 x 448 Res Recording left, game life on right. (no downscaleing) [IE a much lower res, also at a very low FPS, and high bitrate]
Example A: http://puu.sh/rihxa/037c11169d.jpg Example A-2: http://puu.sh/rihyf/1d589aa53a.jpg * modified Example B: http://puu.sh/rihDP/53807b5a2d.png *OBS preview
Example A, still discoloratio. in A-2 i captured my entire screen with a light field, then took a shot of just the games side by side again, its from the same still as A but brighter. both sides increased by the exact same amount of brightness, but the diffrence in color contrast being much more clear
Example B is the OBS preview screen. from what im aware its (supposed) to accurately preview what the stream will see, and yet, its totally fine in preview.

here is a final one EXAMPLE LIVE: http://puu.sh/rijdy/bafba940ae.jpg other example: http://puu.sh/rimjn/a53c134668.jpg
from actual live stream comparison, still discolored. just to prove its not just my recordings. the other example is a diffrent emulaitor, so its not emulation related.
as final proof its not game specific related at all here is a picture of REDDIT ITSELF http://puu.sh/rimSE/b0e93617fc.jpg
ignore it being blurry, i was lazy on setting res for this, but the point is, even reddit is getting discolored.
anyone got any ideas?
