Song connection
Post Body

from "Oh You Are the Roots..."

I met you through a common friend

in the attic of my parents' house

from "You Will. You? Will..."

are you the love of my lifetime? cause there's been times I've had my doubts

we were just kids when I first kissed you in the attic of my parents' house

interesting that both of these songs also rely on books as metaphors for interpersonal relationships (in the former, for Conor's solipsism, and in the latter, for a romantic relationship)

based on the story Conor tells in this performance of Feb 15 (where he mentions courting her "in his parents' basement"), I think it's safe to say both of these songs are about Neely Jenkins (singer in Tilly & the Wall, also Conor's one-time neighbor, Park Ave. bandmate, and girlfriend)
