So I decided to get back into Oblivion again. It’s been a while and thought of doing a full Mage run. Something I’ve not done before on the game. Anyways so I’ve been playing it for like a week and then these odd updates come through the other day. I don’t think much of it as they downloaded so fast and the game ran fine so I just ignored it. However a few hours later I try going back on the game and when I try to load my last save it says “This file relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects my no longer be available…” I remembered this from the 360 days when I vainly tried to play offline, basically Xbox DRM. So I checks my downloaded DLCs and there all there except….The Wizards Tower. In most cases I’d say whatever and carry on with the game except this is my player home, so all my stuff is in there.

I Thought I’d try and play offline see if that would help. A weird update for shivering isles popped up but of course couldn’t download. Then the game literally refused to start up, kept booting me back to dashboard. So I went back online but the update didn’t finish. In fact the update disappeared. What I did notice was that shivering isles was missing. Somehow it had uninstalled. I’ve now reinstalled it.

However I can’t get the game to recognise I have the Wizards tower already downloaded. Has been for years in fact. Can’t find it on the Xbox one store but I can on the 360 one. However sometimes it appears as installed and others it has a price. I’m not overly sure what to do now other than to scrap my save and start again, which I’d rather not do.

(Also sorry for the rant I’m rather irked.)
