My g/f and I will be flying up to Oakland this Saturday to see a show at the Fox. I was hoping you guys could give me a few ideas on places to eat/things to do or see while we're up there. We'll be staying at 9th and Broadway and we'll be in town from around 10am Saturday morning until 4 or 5 on Sunday. We're open to all kinds of food and activities.

Also, is it safe enough to walk the half mile from 9th/Broadway up to Fox Theater? I imagine we'll go get drinks or something after the show, and at that point it'll start getting late. Is the walk back safe? I have no problem getting an uber or cab back if that's the best way.
