Time for the opposite of a cringe for a change. A true story that's hard to believe.

On January 9 I received a text message:

"I saw your post on Tryst a couple weeks ago. You're stunning and intriguing. I'm a 64 yo mwm...just looking for some adult fun on the side. Too many scams online."

I checked the blacklist -- six negative reports from 2020 to May 2024:

  • "Twot won't screen."
  • "Suffers a commonly known disease as 'trick can't read.'"
  • "When I text my address he canceled."
  • "Old guy only have $40."

You all know the type.

I had some time on my hands, so I asked him for a selfie -- expecting to see a guy in a dirty undershirt or Cabela's camo. Instead, I received a nice photo of a distinguished gentleman -- could be a lawyer, banker, or other professional. Certainly not the look of a broke "old guy."

I mentioned the blacklist to him and, in very general terms, the reports. I got the usual "it's not me" reply, and he asked how he could correct this problem. I said there was no way (at least none that I know) to "dispute" a report on the blacklist or even to delete it. I told him that the best way was to see an escort, treat her with courtesy and respect, and ask her to leave a good report on the blacklist. I leave good reports for all of my clients.

I agreed to meet him. I don't normally request a deposit (to men in Hawaii the word "deposit" equates to "scammer") -- but I do require one if reviews mention NCNS or being late.

I didn't request a deposit from him.

On the appointed day he thoughtfully sent me short text messages to say he was leaving his home, almost there, in the lobby. He drove approximately 35 miles to my incall -- what folks in Hawaii (like me) consider a huge distance. He was well-dressed and looked exactly like his selfie. He greeted me with my full fee and a $50 tip. He explained that he woke up that morning not feeling well -- congested and coughing. But he knew it would be rude to cancel our appointment at the last minute so he drove 70 miles (round trip) to bring me my full fee and a tip -- five $100 bills. And then he left, saying he hoped he could see me again when he was feeling better.

Like all of you, I deal with an incredible amount of rudeness as I sift through the text messages looking for -- and finding --the pearls. On this day I didn't find a pearl, but a diamond.

I have left him a glowing report on the blacklist. If you're fortunate to find it, please be sure to see this "old guy."
