There is currently no East-West subway connection in the Bronx. There are Cross Bronx buses of course but they are overcrowded and packed and not grade separated. Wouldn’t a dedicated subway or light rail line alleviate this and help better serve this densely populated borough? This line could even extend into Upper Manhattan.
If and when IBX is completed, the Cross Bronx could potentially be the second light rail line for the system. This clearly isn’t a priority for the MTA right now and there are no proposals or plans for this, but what do you guys think?
