I know this is radioactive, but here goes. This ritual is becoming almost universal at LGBT gatherings and events. Sometimes I meekly go along, but I deeply resent it since A) it's freaking bloody obvious what my pronouns are and B) it means bowing down before a gender ideology that I don't believe in. It's like burning incense before the emperor's statue.
Out of courtesy, I will address people by whatever name and pronouns they prefer, but -- sorry, not sorry -- I don't believe people can really change their sex, that's it's fair for biological males to compete in women's sports or, most of all, in conducting irreversible medical experiments on future gay and lesbian children.
Call me a "transphobe." I don't care. It is "phobia," in the original Greek sense of fear, not hate. I genuinely fear what this movement is doing to gender-non-conforming children.
