ļ»æYesterday, I FINALLY made it out to Rock Lodge and it surpassed my hopes and dreams. Being a Swede I thought it was funny it is so close to Stockholm (NJ!) and for the past year I have been dying to get out there.
Thing is, I had no idea how to get there without a car. It was actually VERY simple trip from NYC to Rock Lodge. First, check out this https://www.instagram.com/reel/CtdVuIhNYH8/?igsh=dmMxdmVicHV0OWwy
From the last stop of the 194 bus I ordered an Uber and only had to wait 15 min for it. I was at the gate of Rock Lodge at 12:30 and the weather was gorgeous!
The front office checked my ID and then my friend āMangoā gave me a tour of the place.
All afternoon we swam, walked about, sunned by the lake, saunaād, paddle boated, ate (food and snacks we brought) and I made many new friends.
When I go back Iāll have to enjoy the things I didnāt get to this time: hot tub, the grills, pickleball/tennis, hiking trails, kayaks and a ridiculous number of fun floaties!
Side note: I work remotely so WiFi is crucial for me and it was free & solid at Rock Lodge on the bungalow side of the lake. I had no service (cell or WiFi) on the other side of the lake.
An incredible couple drove Mango and me to the bus stop ā so many nice people at Rock Lodge. But we were ready to book an Uber. One tip is to do the schedule a booking with the time you want to go so the Uber will be there ready for you without waiting.
This summer I will definitely be out to Rock Lodge again. They have a cool fun things on their events calendar that I want to try and make. Like International Day in July. Maybe Iāll bring Swedish meatballs to put Mangoās Italian oneās to shame. š
If youāve ever wanted to visit Rock Lodge, donāt delay! And if you see me there, say Hey!
