2023 been a rough year for me…recently graduated out of college…secured a job afterwards…sounds like a dream right? (

But almost a year later, I found myself hating my job. Doesn’t help that my manager is a straight up asshole and the environment is stupid toxic. I think it time for me to go and start looking at other opportunities.

However, the job market is severely tight and some of my friends just lost their jobs. And now I can’t help but feel stuck in my situation but also guilt. Like my friends just lost their jobs and I’m here ranting on the internet and to them on how much I hate my job. Don’t get me wrong, I know how privilege I am. But I still feel conflicted.

Idk how to combat this feeling but I thought I diversify my experience as much as I can. And this might seem unrelated or out of the ordinary, but I think I’m ready to do some volunteer work especially during my free time. And maybe in the future I might like the idea of working for a non-profit.

Does anyone know of any volunteer opportunities that supports or targets the LGBTQ in NYC? Any tips, leads, or link would be super helpful.
