Any advice on microphones I should get? Im very much an amateur working on short films as a hobby with only 1-2 actors (me included). That means I can't really operate a boom mic currently but hopefully if I can find likeminded people that won't be a problem forever.
I'm also considering a lavalier mic but I've read their performance when outside or in movement shots is very poor. Since I live in north brooklyn near some really scenic areas, I feel like most of my shots would be outside.
Anyways could someone provide some advice? Should I go with a shotgun on a boom or a lavalier mic? What are some budget friendly options (max $200)?
