My mom just reminded me she and I have the sickle cell trait, making us eligible with underlying conditions. I was able to make an appt via MyChart just now. However, I don't have any documentation verifying that I have the sickle cell trait, and I don't have any way of obtaining any either.

I feel bad because I want to present some kind of doctor's note/"proof" that I have an underlying condition. I know you just have to self-identify, but I feel bad because it will seem as though I very well could be lying.

Should I not feel bad about this?! idk! Just wondering what y'all's thoughts are. TYIA :)

UPDATE: I GOT THE VAX! thank you all SO much for your kind words and encouragement!! 😭 was not expecting that at all. Y’all definitely pushed me to do it and not feel bad about it and I’m glad I did. I went to a NYC H H location and the NP who administered the vax was SO nice and cool! I have my appointment for Dose 2 in a month. Thanks again, everyone :)))
