I just finished building a dating site. It needs users, and I'm from NYC, so I'm giving away free premium accounts to r/NYC!
Post Body

Well, since it's still in beta, the premium accounts don't exist yet. But they will soon! And if you sign up with the promo code r/nyc, you'll be automatically upgraded when they do exist.

The site is talkovertea.com. I built it to address the problems with current dating sites: people make snap judgments based on appearances, rarely have substantial conversation, and guys "spray and pray" the ladies with copy-and-paste messages. I thought all that was silly so I made talkovertea, which focuses on conversations and topics of debate.

(Edit for clarity: talkovertea does have profile pictures, you just don't get to see them until you've chatted with someone for a minute or two. Your date's whole profile is slowly revealed while you're chatting.)

It's a work in progress. Yes, I know the design sucks (I'm not a designer), and there are some usability issues, and that nobody's on it yet... which is why I hope my NYC brethren can help me out and sign up! This is my first large-scale solo project, and I really believe in it.

If anyone has any advice on how to market it around NYC, or any general comments on how it can be improved, please let me know. You guys rock!

TLDR: I made a sweet dating site called talkovertea. NYC is better than everywhere else, so I want you guys to join. Use the promo code r/nyc to be upgraded to a premium account for free when I get around to building that.
