What?? No! Why would you think that? Hell no is it an excuse for their behavior. It's a reason. And if you can treat the reason, you can stop the behavior. Sheesh.
Locking away violent criminals doesn't make less criminals. Treating people who need help and teaching people that there are better ways of managing their lives, THATS how you get less criminals. Fucking hell, it's like our society is programed to just punish and discard people who don't follow the rules. It's all punish and beat down and instead of positive reinforcement of good behaviors. When's the last time you got rewarded for doing something good in society? Why isn't there was an incentive program to pick up litter and volunteer helping others? Like, state-funded monetary imbursement?

Oh here we go. Another rant about how it's specifically progressives fault that the legal system is broken. The only people you're convincing are people who already believe that bullshit. So basically nobody new. Stop trying to politicize everything and recognize that the system is dysfunctional on many levels which culminates on violent criminals being released from jail instead of going through a proper rehabilitation program to get the help they need. People don't commit crimes because they're bad people. They commit crimes because something went wrong in their lives and they see no other alternative solutions to their problems.
