I'm a relative noob in terms of Nuzlocke experience. I've attempted 4 nuzlockes and completed 2. I failed my first attempt at vanilla Emerald at Champion Wallace. Beat the game at the 2nd attempt (including Steven). I failed a vanilla Fire Red attempt at the E4 Champion too, and then decided that Leaf Green had better exclusives, so I beat that instead. All of these attempts were with standard hardcore nuzlocke rules (except nicknames). No dupes clause too.
Since even my failed attempts went as far as the E4 Champions, and I jumped straight in with hardcore rules and didn't feel overwhelmed, I'm thinking about upping stakes a bit. I want to try a difficult rom hack. I'm thinking Radcial Red v3.02. I've decided that I want my starter choice to be taken away from me too. An RNG app on my phone has already determined that Chimchar will be my starter for my first attempt. FYI I will be hacking in Rare Candies to minimise grinding. I know that decision removes a lot of peril from potentially dangerous wild encounters, but to be brutally honest, I just don't care. Grinding is tedious and I hate it. I want to enjoy the challenge of strategy and team building and not lose my cool because I was so bored grinding that I get distracted and lose a mon to some BS little troll mon.
I'm reaching out for some advice from people who have played Radical Red before. What are any pieces of advice you can offer me? Any particular encounters I should try and guarantee myself? Minimal EV grinding on or off? Or even just little tidbits of info that might make my life a little easier. Thanks in advance.
