Why does the same product from two different brands have different nutrition facts?
Post Body

I mainly ask because I usually prefer the a store's house brand due to affordability. (I especially love Walmart's frozen veggies as they're still going for about $1 a bag)

For some reason, the house brand seems to list much less vitamins than some name brand. Take HEB peanut butter for example. It just has a few tiny percentages for Calcium and Potassium. Same thing with Great Value Brand's of frozen broccoli.

But JIF peanut butter supposedly has much more Calcium and Potassium along with Iron, Vitamin E, Niacin, etc.

I notice this is a trend with most comparisons; pasta sauces, nuts, certain canned goods, etc.

Is this because house brand are genuinely a bit unhealthier or just don't contain as much since name brands typically add a whole bunch of extra stuff in? I make most things homemade, but when I do buy, I prefer the store's brand because I also noticed they use less ingredients or less added unnecessary flavorings/colors/etc. that I like to avoid in name brand. Or to save money, maybe they just don't list all of those things? What do you think?
