I am a OR/ER nurse, and was just informed that my hospital has 51% compliance with the vaccine..now, I understand not getting a vaccine for reasons..but it seems to me that nurses in my unit who didn’t get the vaccine, always find someway to get out of doing surgeries on covid patients..I even heard the charge nurse make the assignment and say “well he got the vaccine.” Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Personally I have done more covid cases then anyone else in the unit, so much so that even the surgeons laugh and say I am the “covid nurse.” I find it infuriating that someone would refuse the vaccine, and then refuse to care for the patients..is there other units where this is happening, or is it a surgery specific thing..
